Private residence in Toronto
Situated in a very traditional neighborhood of Toronto, the modern architecture respects the proportions of adjacent houses while utilizing a very contemporary architectural language.
The building is composed of two three storey volumes, one on the street side of the house and the other on the opposite site, linked by an open stair that is located in a three storey high atrium covered by a glass skylight.
Swiss made stucco, French grey granite from Lanehin in Brittany, black granite from South Africa and African wood for cabinets are the materials uses, with Canadian hockey pucks dotting the exterior facades.
