Balsam Lake Boathouse



Instalado en Kawarthas, un parque recreativo abierto todo el año a lo largo de Trent-Severn Waterway, Balsam Lake Boathouse, tradicional pero moderno, está hecho de vigas de madera laminada con pegamento, techos de pizarra, ventanas de doble acristalamiento en marcos de aluminio recubiertos de plástico negro, piedra natural Paredes inclinadas, acero y vidrio.
La cubierta a dos aguas, con cumbreras horizontales perpendiculares a igual altura, define una planta octogonal; representando la fusión de cuatro lucernarios reunidos en un punto.
La planta baja que resguarda dos botes conecta visualmente con el jardín junto al lago y el deck de cedro con una parrilla típica sudamericana.
El nivel superior, el refugio, es una guarida con gabletes acristalados que brindan vistas de 270 grados, una chimenea, una biblioteca y la visión interior del techo de madera.
