Waldorf Astoria Residences Miami



El Waldorf Astoria de Miami será la torre residencial más alta al sur de Manhattan. Con 100 pisos, desarrollados en 1.049 pies de altura, el edificio ubicado en el centro de Miami, está compuesto por nueve cubos de nueve pisos cada uno, con ventanas de piso a techo de 10 pies que permiten vistas espectaculares, únicas en su tipo, de Biscayne Bahía, Miami Beach y el Océano Atlántico.
Alberga un hotel de 7 estrellas y apartamentos con servicios de Waldorf Astoria con una estructura de estacionamiento de diez pisos y comodidades en la parte superior. Los cubos inferiores albergan las instalaciones del hotel y las habitaciones con apartamentos y condominios en la parte superior.
El concepto era realizar una escultura icónica que desafiara las leyes de la gravedad situando los diferentes bloques en diferentes posiciones, que además crearan vistas únicas desde cada espacio.
El volumen muy esbelto requería un núcleo central para hacer frente a la torsión causada por los fuertes vientos de la zona.
Carlos Ott realizó el diseño conceptual, en colaboración con el estudio de arquitectura de Sieger Suarez y el interiorismo estuvo a cargo de BAMO.
